Author Evette Beckett-Tuggle on her debut book, The Heartfelt Voice: A Writing Guide for Women to Affirm, Encourage, and Empower
As a life coach, former corporate executive, active member of women’s service organizations, daughter, wife, and mother, I understand the challenges that women face in having their voices heard while juggling the multiple aspects of their lives. While many of us are caregivers and nurturers of others, we don’t do a great job of self-reflection or self-care. Consequently, we often find ourselves stressed out and burned out. Some of us have difficulty expressing our true feelings and so our voices are not heard; our thoughts not shared. My hope is that my writing will inspire women to use their voices to write expressions of their own experiences. Writing is a powerful tool for healing, comfort, release, and growth. It is my sincere wish that those who read my writing and diligently work through the exercises in the In Your Own Words section at the end of each passage, experience the benefits of affirmation, encouragement, and empowerment that writing can bring.

Evette Beckett-Tuggle is a published contributing author in two books. Her work, “The Phenomenal Coach” appears in the book Coaching Perspectives IV and highlights two branding constructs she developed for written affirmations. In the book, The Women We Watched: A Celebration of Mothers by the Sons and Daughters They Nurtured, Beckett-Tuggle writes a heart-warming short story about her mother and reflects on the challenges and rewards of caring for elderly parents with Dementia. “Mom is worth it,” she says, “not just because she is my mother, but because of all that she is still becoming.” Both books are available on Amazon.
